Everest (Harrismith) 20-22 March 2004

We had a good time at Everest this last weekend. We never did a huge amount of climbing, but it was nice to get out of town. Scott and Myself tried Elcatraz, on the Eagle head buttress, but only managed to red-pointed the last pitch, it is a really good route, requiring balls of steel, and I will defiantly be trying it again some time, when I get my mojo back.

Brett and Dale (climbers from our club), did Fight the feeling with no major epics.

Western fell from the first bolt of "suicide blond" and sprained his ankle, which was a bit of a downer, After that we decided to stay close to the ground and came up with the "western traverse" starting at "Allis in chains" and finishing at "space cowboys". which is very cool. the extension to the next route across is still to go down!!!

on Monday morning, we did a little fun bouldering near the eagles head before drive home.

All in all it was a good weekend.
